CELEBRATION OF LIGHT — cover

[ Synopsis ]

This project explored the design of a contemporary apartment building within a dense urban context. With neighbouring buildings tightly bordering the east and west edges of the site, access to natural light became the defining design challenge. In response, the building was shaped through a series of alternating slanted fissures, strategically carved to capture sunlight from the north and south and draw it deep into the interior spaces. These sculptural voids transformed light into the primary generator of form, creating dynamic spatial experiences and an ever-changing interplay of light and shadow throughout the building.

[ Vision Statement ]

These sculptural voids transformed light into the primary generator of form, creating dynamic spatial experiences and an ever-changing interplay of light and shadow throughout the building.

[ Key Discovery ]

I learned that the most powerful architectural concepts often emerge from constraints, where environmental challenges can become the primary drivers of form, experience and identity.
