CELEBRATION OF LIGHT
Architecture2022

3rd Year Bachelor of Architecture
Individual Work
This project explored the design of a contemporary apartment building within a dense urban context, accommodating residents across diverse lifestyles and stages of life. With neighbouring buildings tightly bordering the east and west edges of the site, access to natural light became the defining design challenge. In response, the building was shaped through a series of alternating slanted fissures, strategically carved to capture sunlight from the north and south and draw it deep into the interior spaces. These sculptural voids transformed light into the primary generator of form, creating dynamic spatial experiences and an ever-changing interplay of light and shadow throughout the building.
